Plastic Surgeons in Athens
We think about practice in two connected but separate ways: As the basis for our business (we are a medical practice, yes), but also as the foundation of our philosophy of holistic medicine. To practice is to take time with something, to work toward a goal, and most importantly, to commit to a process. To us, cosmetic surgery is more than a quick fix; it is part of a practice of wellness to which our patients commit to achieve their goals. Nothing we do is magic, but what you can do in your daily practice of everyday healthful living is nothing short of magical.
Meet Dr. Stephen Lober
A skilled surgeon (as well as an author and celebrated sculptor), Stephen Lober has been practicing plastic surgery in Athens, Georgia since 1995. Gina Brewer, Practice Manager
A 25-year medical industry veteran with experience in dermatology, family practice, OB/GYN, critical care, urgent care & occupational medicine, Gina held a management position at Athens Regional for 15 years before joining our practice in 2016. She is the proud mother of four children; enjoys travel, cooking and volunteering; and truly loves the bond she builds with each patient.
Amy Ginn, Cosmetic Coordinator
Originally from Miami, Florida, Amy brings more than 20 years in medical field to our practice. Outside of work, she's married with three teenagers, enjoys creative outlets like photography and furniture restoration and raises chickens.
Cristy Cox, OR & Clinical Nurse
Christy is Dr. Lobers clinical and main OR nurse. After completing her training in 1998, from Gainesville College and Lanier Tech, she hit the ground running, immediately working in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
She thoroughly enjoys assisting Dr. Lober in the operating room and especially loves to watch the transformation of her patients throughout the surgical evolution, building relationships with her patients along the way.
Raised in Winder Georgia, Christy met her husband of 18 years in Athens. Outside of the office, she's a very busy mom supporting her two daughters at their school volleyball events. On those rare days when she has spare time Christy enjoys her painting and special time with the most important thing in her life - her family.
"Everyone on the team is kind and informative and caring. Great leadership at the top."

Meg Brinegar, Medical Assistant
I have been involved in some kind of medicine since working in my Fathers lab at age 15. I became an EMT in NC, and then Ga. in 1973. While an EMT in Atlanta I worked out of Grady Hospital. I then started working for a Plastic Surgery group for 3 years in Atlanta, moved to Durham, NC and worked at Duke. I then moved to the mountains of NC and was trained in midwifery and worked in a rural general medical practice for several years. Moved back to Ga., continued to practice midwifery until I started in Urgent care and then Occupational Medicine in 1996. While in Occ. Med. both Gina and I received several required certifications. I was Nationally Certified as a Medical Assistant while at Regional where I eventually retired in March 2018.
I have 3 children, Keily is 40, an RN., Autumn is 37 a teacher, and my son, Kyffon 35 is an HR manager....5 grandkids that keep me blessed and busy. I am also part of Project 82 which is an organization to educate and empower young girls in Africa.
“I feel quite honored to be a part of this organization. I enjoyed most of the 24 years I worked for ARMC/Piedmont but I must say it’s so nice to be a part of a group that truly maintains professionalism and yet feels like family!”
