Dr. Lober the Artist
Most surgical specialties are about fixing problems - restoring function, correcting what's broken and getting patients back to baseline. Plastic surgery is different. It does all of that, but it also asks a second more subjective question: can this be improved? And the moment you ask that, you leave the world of pure technique and enter the world of judgment, taste and aesthetics. That's why I've always believed great plastic surgeons are artists at heart. Precision matters, of course, as well as the health of the patient - but without an eye for harmony, proportion, and restraint, technical skill alone isn't enough. In plastic surgery, knowing how to operate is only half the work. Knowing when, why and how far - that's the art. — Dr. Stephen Lober

Amie Clark is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who earned her Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of North Florida. With extensive experience providing anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures, Amie has developed a particular passion for plastic surgery. She believes exceptional anesthesia care should be individualized to each patient, with thoughtful consideration given to their health, procedure, comfort, and recovery. In collaboration with Dr. Lober, Amie has helped refine the practice’s multimodal pain management and enhanced recovery strategies, with a focus on safety, comfort, and attention to detail throughout the surgical experience. Amie has also pursued specialized training in aesthetic medicine, offering personalized neurotoxin and dermal filler treatments to soften fine lines, restore or enhance facial contours, and create a refreshed, natural appearance. Her aesthetic philosophy mirrors her approach to anesthesia: careful assessment, meticulous technique, and individualized treatment designed to enhance each patient’s natural features. “For me, patient care is both a science and an art. Whether I am creating an individualized anesthetic plan or developing an aesthetic treatment plan, I find tremendous fulfillment in understanding what matters to each patient and providing care specifically tailored to them.” Amie is proud to call the Athens area home. After attending the University of Georgia, she returned to the community with her family seven years ago. She and her husband, Jason, have two children, Charlie and Ivy, and a dachshund named Liberty.
